Your privacy, protected.
Counselling only works when what you share is safe. Here is how that safety is protected, in plain language.
The laws that protect you
Your personal health information is protected under Ontario's Personal Health Information Protection Act (PHIPA) and Canada's Personal Information Protection and Electronic Documents Act (PIPEDA). These laws govern how your information is collected, used, stored, and disclosed.
What is collected, and why
When you contact the practice, the information you provide (name, phone, email, location, and what you'd like help with) is used only to respond to you and to arrange care. Clinical records created during counselling are kept confidential and stored securely. Nothing is sold, shared for marketing, or disclosed to third parties outside the limits below.
The limits of confidentiality
What you share in session stays between you and Sarah, within the limits every counsellor follows: a risk of serious harm to yourself or someone else, a child in need of protection, or a court order. These limits are explained clearly before you begin.
Virtual sessions
Virtual sessions take place over a secure, private video platform and are available to Ontario residents only. As with any online service, you're encouraged to join from a private space on a personal device.
This website
The contact form on this site sends your message directly and securely to Sarah. The site does not display advertising and does not use invasive tracking. Your theme preference (light or evening view) is stored locally in your own browser and never leaves your device.
